Cleaning your bedding on a regular basis and letting it dry in the fresh air can create a relaxing feeling that can’t be beaten. You can also invest in new blankets, sheets, or comforters to give your bed a new feeling if that’s something you desire.
“Having a clean and comfortable sleep space is so important,” says Jason Reposa, Founder and CEO of Good Feels. “A lot of people neglect to maintain their sleep space. You should be washing your bedding on a regular basis – at least once per week. If you don’t have the time, buy a couple of extra sheet sets so you can at least change them out every 5-7 days and have time to wash on the weekends.”

Distractions can be a massive hindrance as you’re trying to create a good sleep space. Sleep experts actually recommend avoiding spending time in your sleep space for anything other than sleeping. This means that scrolling through social media, watching tv, or other forms of hanging out on your bed should become a thing of the past.
“Blue light is awful for sleep, but using screens in your sleep space can really hurt your ability to rest well,” says Miles Beckett, CEO and Co-Founder of Flossy. “Remove the temptation to scroll through your phone in bed or watch tv by keeping the remote and your phone far away from your bed. Invest in an alarm clock instead of using your phone so you’re not tempted to scroll social media if you wake in the night.
