Only we can escape our prison and four walls and have freedom, nobody else. What I mean by prison and four walls is fears of things, limitations, and fears of failure and success. When I genuinely think of constraints and limits, though, they frankly start “between the ears and in the thinking organ for me, though.” Yes, our greatest weaknesses and strengths come from ourselves and nowhere else, and if we are looking outside of ourselves, we are wasting our time. What is outside of us is a symbol; our real self is the true temple of the living God in us and around us.
What I just penned above seems extreme, but it has the reality and merit of being the truth. Like anyone, at times, I have looked to others and “outside” for my answers only to be powerfully and genuinely disillusioned. Indeed, the only true appointment we have is not with some outer “guru,” it is with ourselves. The meaning of the word guru in Sanskrit is a sort of parent of mind, and only you within can become the master of your mind.
Whenever we are scared, a threat stimulus, such as the sight of a predator, triggers a fear response in the brain, which activates areas involved in preparation for motor functions involved in fight or flight. So only we as conscious, reasoning, and thinking spiritual beings can find answers to fear & it is our thinking organs and our ears that can decide our conclusion.
