Showers can be very relaxing, especially if you are on a long, tiring road trip. They allow you to relieve the aching muscles in your body before you hit your accelerator and drive those hundred miles again.
It is nice to have a place where you can take a shower when you are on a road trip. You can rest comfortably in the same environment as your travel partner and feel safe with the knowledge that you are protected from germs. Showers can take a long time to get, especially if you are traveling long distances or countryside. You don’t need to spend all your money on hotels and inns if you use some of our tips below.
Rivers and Lakes
You can take a shower anywhere there is water. Lakes are especially helpful but always check the environment before entering it. Check for snakes, dangerous fishes, and even the water odor and color before deciding to take a shower. Although the water is not always hot in a river or a lake, it is still plentiful and enables you to cool off on the road. Take out your bio soap (don’t use chemicals and spoil water, please), dive into the lake, and enjoy!
Portable Shower
The best shower heads for road trips are the portable kind. This type is designed to fit right inside your RV or car’s plumbing system. These units allow you to stop anywhere that has access to water.
They are very nice because they can be kept in your car or locker. The great thing about them is that they are straightforward to use and are the perfect replacement for public showers. Many places have them installed in their locker rooms. They are incredibly convenient.
Campgrounds
Campgrounds, state parks, or national parks are going to be the easiest way for you to shower on the road. They’re very cheap (even free at most places). They’re also a safer option (than lakes) and easily accessible. If you happen to come across Hot springs during your long road trip, stop and clean yourself right there. They’re the best place to get cleaned and wash your body. Plus, they’re free.
Truck Stops
One of the easiest ways to grab a shower on your road trip: truck stops! Most truck stops are situated near a major highway, and they’re available in most of the different countries as well.
Hot Tubs
Another good option is a portable hot tub. These come with their own filter system. In addition to the bathroom, they also fit well in cars, boats, RVs, and even sedans. You simply fill them up with water and let the hot water warm you instantly. No waiting for a mug of coffee.
