Biologists have taken time to study sharks and they have outlined some remarkable characteristics. Sharks are not just the biggest fish in the oceans, they also exhibit fascinating features mimicked by leaders. 

For leaders who are adopting shark styles and patterns, there are qualities noticed and they are also seen as being effective. Risk-taking seems to be the most dominant characteristic of sharks and that explains why it is the most fearsome predator lurking in the waters. Any leader who wants to work as a shark is always willing to lead and handle challenges all alone. This is contrary to those who have whale leadership styles, such thrive only in stable groups or units. 

Leaders who work like sharks are also combative and are always launching energetic assaults fearlessly. Therefore, they are often seen in military circles and such leaders are eager to always push for attacks on the enemies as opposed to negotiating with them. A general who has a shark-like attitude is also described as a hawk that will not retreat but will rather fight till the very end. 

Sharks depend a lot on instinct when it comes to hunting so it is understandable when leaders who behave like a shark work on their gut instincts. This means they can change plans at the last minute and some others do translate this to erraticism. Sharks are unpredictable, aggressive, confident, bold, and follow their intuition which are all qualities to look out for in leaders who seem to adopt a shark style of leadership.
