How to Build a Wooden Shed in 11 Easy Steps

When thinking about putting a shed, you have to study many things and reflect on its preferences. So, the first thing you should do is to get a plan. There is a variety of it on the web, and some are even available for free. Have it printed and select the design that you like and prefer.

When a plan has already been finalized and set, the next thing you will do is to study the extent of your budget. Set a budget limit and base your shed building materials. 

There are only about a couple of choices when it comes to the construction materials of your storage shed. It should be either made of metal or wood. The most practical and common is wood. Procedure:

  1. Start by building the foundation. This will depend upon the size of your choice. However, don’t forget to cover it with treated plywood.
  2. Using chalk lines as a guide, start the assembling by nailing together the perimeter and adding the stud.
  3. Carefully nail the siding to the walls just before you stand them up.
  4. After standing them up, trim off the top corner to mirror the slope of the angled top plate.
  5. Start by cutting out the rafters for the roof.
  6. Line up the rafters with the nails and marks through the ridge to install them.
  7. Stand the walls, beginning with the back wall.
  8. Add the front and the sides.
  9. Mark out the window trim using a trammel.
  10. Install the windows.
  11. Install the exterior trim

 The desired paint color will complete the ensemble with a perfect roofing structure which is either aluminum, metal, shingles, galvanized sheets, or waterproof roof tiles, whichever is you pick for your DIY activity, ensure you don’t forget to add the finishing touch to enhance the feel.
