Argentina’s Gimnasia y Esgrima have reported two more positive coronavirus cases, taking the Primera Division club’s total number of infected players to 14.

Right-back Marcelo Weigandt and defender German Guigfrey began showing symptoms late Saturday and were diagnosed with the virus after swab tests on Sunday.

“They have been isolated and are being clinically monitored by the club’s medical team,” Gimnasia said on Twitter.

Others currently under quarantine after testing positive for the virus are Tomas Fernandez, Lucas Barrios, Matias Melluso, Harrinson Mancilla, Victor Ayala, Bautista Barros, Rodrigo Gallo, Nelson Insfran, Bruno Palazzo, Antonio Napolitano, Rodrigo Rey and Leonardo Morales.

Gimnasia y Esgrima, who were coached by Diego Maradona at the time of the football legend’s death last November, are currently eighth in the 13-team Primera Division Group B standings.

Their next scheduled fixture is an away clash at Patronato next Sunday (April 11).
