U.S. President Joe Biden intends to nominate Lina Khan, a former counsel to the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee’s antitrust subcommittee, to be a commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission, the White House said on Monday.

This might meet with an opposition from the Republicans.

Biden has been long criticised for playing identity politics, with critics accusing him to exploit diversity for the sake of correct media attention.
