A female journalist was shot dead by an unidentified Talibani Terrorist in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar region on Thursday, an official confirmed. The event took place in the rural capital of Jalalabad.
“Malalai Miwand, who worked for a private radio-TV station, was gunned down by unknown armed terrorist belonging to Taliban in Jalalabad city in the morning rush hour today, and criminals made their escape,” the official told us.
He added that efforts were underway to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Miwand’s driver was also shot in the attack, hospital sources said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. Miwand is the second journalist to be killed in Afghanistan since mid-November.
On November 12, another reporter, Alyas Dayee, was killed in a bomb blast in Helmand province.
