An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 struck 51 km NNW of La Ligua, Chile at 0707 GMT on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey confirmed.
With a depth of 48.36 km, the epicenter was initially determined to be at 71.5345 degrees west longitude and 32.0608 degrees south latitude.
