Australia’s borders will likely stay shut for “some time,” Prime Minister Scott Morrison confirmed.
This decision is solely to keep the virus away from Kangaroo Island until the vaccine arrives.
On Wednesday, Britain advocated using the Pfizer vaccine, stoking optimism of rapid COVID-19 vaccinations across the world.
Still, Morrison said Australia would keep its borders closed to non-permanent residents and non-Australian citizens.
“On international borders, we’re still some time away from that,” Morrison told our NYK Daily reporter in Canberra.
