Have A Set Routine
You might feel something of a sense of freedom when you are working from home, and your employer may even have suggested that, as long as you get your work done by your deadline and you attend the meetings you should be in, you can work any hours you want to. This sounds wonderful and can be useful at times, but ideally, you should create and stick to a set routine.
This means you should:
- Get out of bed at the same time each morning
- Eat breakfast, get washed and dressed, and be ready for work at a specific time

When you work from home, you can work from anywhere. You might choose to go out to a café or work in the park, or you could think that working from your bed or the couch is a good option. The truth is, although you do have the choice of where to work, that doesn’t mean you should work from anywhere. It’s much better to have a dedicated workspace.
This could be a spare bedroom, a room that isn’t used very much (such as a dining room, for example), or even a room in your yard. Ideally, you should be able to leave your workroom at the end of the day and close the door, returning only when it’s time to work the next day.
