FTR (C) vs. Best Friends – AEW Tag Team Championships

Cash Wheeler hits Chuck Taylor with the title belt from behind, and Harwood pins him for the win in 16 minutes.

Winners: FTR

Match Review: 3/5. Good match with a terrible ending. It wasn’t timed properly either. Cutting off around 5 minutes from the match would’ve added more excitement. AEW should work on match finishes better.

Miro and Kip Sabian jump Best Friends after for bumping into their video game during the match.

Sean Mulata and Lee Johnson Vs. Miro and Kip Sabian

Miro makes Mulata tap out in 2 minutes.

Winner: Miro and Kip Sabian

Match Review: NR. It was a quick squash. Good to see Miro winning dominatingly.

After the match, Miro tells Good Friends that it’s game over.

Lance Archer jumps Jon Moxley backstage before officials separate him.

Here comes MJF. He’s achieved more at 23 more than we have in our entire lives, so he doesn’t blame him, and he brings out Chris Jericho. The Inner Circle comes out.

MJF takes a shot at the jackets the Inner Circle is wearing. Sammy isn’t wearing his, and Jericho dictates him to wear it. It’s too big for Sammy. MJF talks about Jericho’s body and calls him a genetic anomaly. He then says his hair is lush, and we can’t relate because we’re all prematurely balding. He asks Jericho permission to touch his hair, and he does. Jericho then tells MJF to cut the shit and talk about his groundbreaking proclamation.

MJF calls Jericho the two of themselves the two biggest draws in AEW. He agrees that Jericho is the Demo God and MJF is the Rating Ruler. MJF mentions he and Jericho have never been physical in the ring since AEW started and explained why that might be the case. MJF compares it to Animal Planet and why two piranhas never eat each other. Jericho says he hates Animal Planet.

MJF says that they are predators, but their prey is adapting. MJF suggests what if they’d work together. MJF possibly, theoretically, plausibly might want to join the Inner Circle. Santana cuts in and says they don’t wish to MJF in the Inner Circle. Jericho says they need time to deliberate. Next week, he suggests MJF go one on one…for a steak dinner. MJF says Jericho’s on.

Tony Schiavone and Britt Baker are at a spa. Britt says adversity causes some to break and others to break records. Rule number five for Britt is to be the worst bitch in the block. He then sees Tony naked and freaks out. He suggests a chest wax, which she starts. The two are now getting foot massages, and Britt says nothing can slow her down, and when you’re the baddest bitch, you make a big comeback. Britt reminds Tony that while he got super kicked by the Young Bucks, she got kicked in the nose and still shows up for work.

Cody (C) vs. Orange Cassidy – TNT Championship

Cassidy pins Cody with a cradle, but unfortunately, the time limit is reached one second after. Therefore, Cody retains in 20 minutes.

Winner: Draw

Match Review: 3.5/5. Good match. It was exciting towards the end. I am impressed by Cassidy’s offense. We will see more of them.

Jake Roberts and Lance Archer are interviewed backstage before Moxley attacks Archer before they are separated by security.

Matt Hardy is interviewed ringside, and he says he feels perfect and is proud of AEW’s success. He says as of tonight, he’s cleared to return to the ring. As he says that, a vignette of Sammy burning photos of Matt appears. He says he’ll send Matt to the hospital every time he gets cleared and he’ll keep doing it until he’s home for good.

AEW Women’s Champion: Hikaru Shida vs. Big Swole

Shida hits a running knee to the back of the head and then another running knee to the front of the head for the win in 9 minutes.

Match Review: 1.5/5. Below average match with a decent ending.

Jon Moxley (C) vs. Lance Archer – AEW Word Championship

Moxley defeats Archer with a roll-up as Archer is pinning Moxley after the Blackou in 14 minutes.

Winner: Jon Moxley

Match Review: 3.5/5. Good match with a predictable winner.

After the match, Archer big boots Moxley, and the Lucha Brothers jump Moxley. Eddie Kingston helps Moxley to his feet and pays respect to him before giving him a backhand and a sleeper. He then takes the title belt and says that’s everything he fights for, and it was stolen from him. He’s going to get it back.

AEW Dynamite Rating for October 14, 2020: 7/10
