The essence of leadership is to assume control and dispense responsibilities in the fairest way possible. A good leader is a blessing in many ways, but a horrible leader can have devastating consequences.
In a case where a leader is a scammer, then there can be no positive outcome. But how will someone know when a leader is a scammer. It is not impossible to detect a scam under the garb of leadership, and this is because there are signs to watch out for. These signs or manifestations are:
Sly leaders are the very personification of deceit. It is effortless to notice that what they say is different from what they do. From lying to customers to promising the subordinates and never fulfilling or meeting the obligations, the scammer of a leader employs deceit in all that he or she does. It will be hopeless to trust such a leader because you are never going to get anything achieved. Deceitful leaders use deceit in all they do, and you just have to be observant to see through their well-concealed veil.
Leaders who turn out to be scammers are also those who give many promises but end up doing very little. They are very smooth and convincing talkers, they can be very articulate and convincing with their talks, but at the end of the day, you will realize that it was all nothing but empty air and many words. They tactfully use words, but when it comes to actions, they are nowhere to be found. Be cautious with a leader who is just full of stories and never achieving anything.
Always Blaming Others
A good leader is one who does not shift the blame onto others. An excellent leader takes all the blame while fixing all that went wrong. He or she will never run away from responsibilities but will gladly take on challenges whenever they appear. But when a leader is a scammer, they will never accept responsibility for anything and flee even if possible.
A scammer in a leadership position will jump into blaming others and lash out against subordinates instead of taking a position to fix things. Such a person is an expert when blaming others and never acting as a competent leader.
One of the most prominent signs of a scammer in a leadership position is that the person is never moderate. The scammer is fond of always exaggerating and blowing things out of proportion. He or she is never in tune with reality, and this shows in all their actions, and it is easy for just anyone to notice. A scammer in a position of authority will overhype his or her achievements and can even lie about achievements or awards that are not even existing in the first place. Moderation is a sign of a good leader, but a scammer can never exhibit such a noble trait.
Selfishness All the Way
A scammer who is in the position of leadership is never selfless or altruistic. Fraudulent leaders are never interested in legacies or working for the benefit of others. They are only interested in what is in it for them. They only want to work on a project if it brings something into their pockets and apart from that, nothing else matters to them. Selflessness is not in the vocabulary of a scammer in a position of power. They do not care about others’ welfare and will go to any length to protect their selfish interests.
Lack of Conscience
A good leader is driven by conscience, sympathy and empathy for others. But this does not apply to wicked leaders who will not mind even if the entire business collapses. They do not care about how others feel or how their actions affect others negatively, and this is because they have no conscience at all. Excellent leaders always think about others and the impact of their actions on others, so they end up having positive legacies.
Not everyone in a leadership position has a good heart. Some people will use all the authority they have to scam others and destroy their lives in the process. A scammer who is in a position of power is a danger to everyone.
Fortunately, there are tell-tale signs that everyone can watch out for and be wary to not make the wrong moves.
