Well, you’re by no means the only one. Indeed, one in two women in the United States is on a diet as we speak. And they’re not just doing it for fun!
More often than not, eating healthier food and consuming fewer calories is all part of a concerted effort to get a beautiful body. We want to be in better shape- slimmer, more toned, and more youthful-looking to boot.
Unfortunately, seeing these kinds of results can be easier said done. Confused by the mass of tools and tactics out there, we rush from one ‘guaranteed’ formula for body-improvement to the next and hinder our efforts in the process. Does that sound all-too-familiar?
Would you like some fool-proof advice on how to beautify your body? Let us help! Keep reading for 7 top tips to help you look and feel better this year.
1. Chew Your Food More
We all know someone who seems to inhale the food on their plate. No sooner have you served them than they’re going back for seconds! It’s almost impressive.
Want our advice, though?
Don’t be like them! In your bid for a better body, do your best to chew more, not less. Remember, chewing your food is downright essential.
For one thing, you appreciate the food more! Chewing helps you experience the flavors, savor the taste, and engage with the eating process.
In terms of your body, though, chewing’s a key process in your metabolism. It’ll help you maintain your weight, get more nutrients from what you eat, and assist your digestive system too.
2. Stay Hydrated
Drinking enough water is a core component of looking, feeling, and being healthy.
After all, a huge percentage of our body is made up of H2O! It makes intuitive sense that staying hydrated is key to looking and functioning at our best.
In reality, there are many immense benefits to drinking lots of water. You’ll stay cooler, your skin will look healthier, and you’ll have less dry mouth, to name just a few. More importantly, though, you’ll also avoid the weight-gaining implications of dehydration.
That’s right, not drinking enough water can make you pile on the pounds! You’ll feel hungrier, eat more as a result, and see your weight spike instead of drop.
3. Get Enough Sleep
Want some good news?
Sleep is gold-dust when it comes to getting a better body. You literally have an excuse to stay longer in bed…so long as you’re asleep!
Of course, spending all day in bed isn’t going to get you six-pack abs. But there’s no denying the importance of getting enough sleep to both your physical appearance and overall wellbeing.
It’s called ‘beauty sleep’ for a reason, right? This is when your body recovers from the rigors of the day. Your muscles repair themselves, your internal systems reset and cleanse themselves, and your mind/memory gets a boost too.
4. Eat a Better Diet
What you eat impacts the way you look.
The result? If you want a better body, then your diet needs to facilitate it!
Consuming lots of foods and beverages that are high in sugar and/or saturated fat simply isn’t conducive to your goals. You’ll put on body fat, feel lethargic, and lack the energy to work-out.
Make sure that you eat a wholesome, natural, well-balanced diet that’s well-suited to your goals, body-size, and level of physical activity. Fill your plates with color! Eat tons of fruit and vegetables, and stop buying unhealthy snacks that are too tempting to resist when you’re hungry.
Eat fewer calories at the same time and you’re sure to lose weight and feel healthier.
5. Drink Less Alcohol
Alcohol is kryptonite to any attempts at getting a better body. Why?
Because of all the empty calories in it! Drinking a bottle of beer, for example, will pile on 150 calories (or more) that contribute almost no nutrients whatsoever. A glass of wine isn’t much better.
Now imagine going to a bar at the weekend and having 4 or 5 of them. You can end up consuming over a quarter of your recommended daily calories on alcohol alone. Needless to say, cutting down on the booze is a natural benefit in terms of beautifying your body.
6. Exercise, Move and Stay Active
Mastering your diet is crucial to getting a beautiful body. But your efforts go into overdrive when you combine that with an exercise regimen.
Work hard to stay physically active throughout your day.
Go to the gym, walk around the block, play racket-sports, or run after work in the evening. Whatever you do, exercising on a regular basis is a sure-fire way to get you in better shape.
Struggle with motivation? Make yourself accountable to something or someone.
For example, you’re far more likely to go to the gym at 6 am if you’re meeting a friend there. You won’t want to let them down, which should be enough to drag you out of bed in the morning!
7. Get Surgery
Plastic surgery is another popular option when it comes to getting a beautiful body.
There are different reasons for this. First, it removes the need for any hard work! You can consult the surgeon one day, go under the knife the next, and walk away looking like a brand new person.
Second, surgery helps us change the parts of our body over which we’d otherwise have no control. Think about the shape of our nose, the fullness of our lips, or the size of our breasts.
No amount of working out or dieting is going to alter their appearance. Get breast augmentation with Dr. Brian Parker, though, or any other form of plastic surgery, and that all changes.
