Winner: The New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston) – STILL Champions

NYK Daily Rating: 3.5/5. Brilliant Match. I loved the chemistry between the tag teams. New Day retaining was predictable, but I would have liked to see a title change here.

Singles Match: MVP vs. R-Truth

MVP told R-Truth before the match that he was about to be ballin before bringing out Bobby Lashley.

This led to MVP walking to the backstage area and R-Truth slapping him. Lashley went on the attack and hit a series of shoulder blocks in the corner. R-Truth tried to mount a comeback but Lashley hit a spear for the win in 1:40.

Winner: Bobby Lashley

NYK Daily Rating: 0.5/5. Squash. I am bored of Bobby Lashley. I can’t stand his matches anymore. He needs a change in character, and a decent rivalry atleast.

WWE SmackDown Women’s Title Match: Bayley (c) vs. Tamina

Tamina got the early advantage and tossed her around. After a distraction by Sasha Banks at ringside, Bayley took out the right knee of Tamina and worked it over around the ring post. Tamina went for a super kick but Bayley applied a knee bar but Tamina got to the bottom rope to break it up. Bayley went for a slam but Tamina fell on her. Bayley landed a series of strikes then poured water on her.

Tamina fired up and tossed her around ringside. Tamina hit a super kick to Bayley on the apron. Tamina went to the top rope but Bayley put her legs up and Tamina caught it.

Tamina with a super kick then hit a powerslam but Banks got into the ring and Tamina stared her down then chased after her. Bayley rolled her up for the win in 10:30 minutes.

Winner: Bayley (c)

NYK Daily Rating: 2/5. They tried but Tamina was too slow. Bayley is brilliant, no doubt but Tamina just couldn’t match up.

Post-match, Banks and Bayley beat down Tamina.

WWE Universal Title Match: Bray Wyatt vs. Braun Strowman (c)

Wyatt was dressed as his Firefly Fun House character and not The Fiend. Strowman threw him into the corner and then hit a shoulder block while Wyatt commented on how strong Strowman is.

Strowman tossed him to the floor and sent him into the barricade and ring post. The pig puppet showed up in the crowd and told Wyatt that he could do it. Wyatt hit him with a DDT on the floor then sent him into the ring steps. Wyatt apologized to him before hitting a tornado DDT off the second rope.

Wyatt hit Sister Abigail to Strowman for 2. Wyatt went for it again and Strowman hit a chokeslam. Strowman landed a few splashes in the corner then hit a shoulder block. Wyatt landed a big boot that sent Strowman crashing to the floor. Strowman came up and was wearing his old sheep mask. Wyatt said that he told him that he would find him. Wyatt said that this time it would be perfect. Strowman did the Wyatt pose in front of him. They hugged but Strowman took off the mask then stomped on it and hit his powerslam finisher for the win in 11 minutes.

Winner: Braun Strowman (c)

NYK Daily Rating: 3.5/5. Very nice match with a suprising end. I am happy Strowman won this match. It was a nice match. This rivalry will continue with Wyatt back in Fiend Mode.

WWE Title Match: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Seth Rollins

Rollins worked over the left leg of Drew then hit an outside dive before going back to the leg. Rollins went for an outside dive but McIntyre caught him and sent him flying over the announce table. Back in the ring,

Drew hit a series of german suplexes then a big boot. Drew hit a clothesline off the top rope. Rollins used the top rope to his advantage then missed a spring board knee strike and Drew hit a spinebuster for 2. Rollins hit a super kick for 2 then a frog splash for 2.

Seth grabbed a chair and then threw it to the ground. Seth went for the Stomp but Drew blocked it and hit a headbutt. Seth knocked him down when he went to the top rope. Seth hit Falcon Arrow for 2.

They once again brawled on the top rope but Drew was knocked down but came back up and hit Rollins flying across the ring. Drew ran into a super kick by Seth, who followed it up with the Stomp for 2. Seth hit a super kick but Drew fired back with a Claymore Kick for the win.

Winner: Drew McIntyre (c)

NYK Daily Rating: 4.75/5. A Nearly 5 star match. I just loved the way Seth and Drew paced this action. It was wrestling+storytelling at it’s best. Both of them amazed me to the core. I have zero complaints with this match. I would have given a 5/5 if there was a crowd but the world situation is difficult. Best match of the night.

Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Daniel Bryan vs. Baron Corbin vs. Otis vs. Aleister Black vs. vs. Rey Mysterio vs. AJ Styles (to be held in Stamford, CT at the WWE headquarters)

Both the men’s and women’s matches started at the same time. The men started in the gym and brawled. They were using equipment and Corbin threw a weight into a mirror and broke it. Otis put a bench press on top of Styles and Rey refused to help him. They went past the bathroom with Brother Love coming out and Rey walking by. They would then brawl into the elevator. Styles was hunting down Mysterio, who was hiding. Styles was frightened by a poster of The Undertaker before walking into a room where it had blue lighting and a casket. Black hit him with a head kick that sent him onto a coffin. We see Paul Heyman in front of a ton of food with everyone passing him and he tries to calm down the situation. Evans knocked the food out of Heyman’s hand and onto Otis, who threw a serving plate into the face of Heyman. This led to a food fight breaking out and Shayna Baszler trying to choke out Rey. Nia Jax and Otis had a staredown as Otis was eating a sandwich. They both walked away. Otis went into the cafeteria and was looking at a pie. John Laurinaitis came driving through on a scooter but Otis threw a pie into his face. Bryan and AJ brawled into the office of Vince McMahon, who was sitting at his desk. Vince told them to get out and they did but had to fix how the chairs were as they moved them. McMahon applied some hand sanitizer and went back to work. Styles and Bryan joked about being cowards in front of McMahon. They brawled into another conference room. The men made it to the roof. Corbin tried to climb the ladder but Asuka kicked him off and grabbed the briefcase. Otis made it and brawled with Corbin. Everyone joined them as Rey took out Otis with a dive then had a tug of war with Black. AJ knocked over Corbin and Rey off the ladder. Corbin “tossed Rey and Black over the side of the roof.” You never saw them fall over though. It was much more like a barricade that looked like the edge of the roof. Elias, who wasn’t in the match, hit Corbin in the back with a guitar and Corbin dropped the briefcase, which was caught by Otis.

Winner: Otis

NYK Daily Rating: 3.75/5. WOW. Otis did it. This was the most unexpected win of this decade. I know Vince was high on Otis but giving him a gateway to WWE championship? I am interested to see what’s next in store for him.

Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Nia Jax vs. Asuka vs. Shayna Baszler vs. Dana Brooke vs. Lacey Evans vs. Carmella (to be held in Stamford, CT at the WWE headquarters)

Both the men’s and women’s matches started at the same time. The women started in the lobby. The match started with Asuka diving off a platform onto the other stars. Asuka took the elevator while the others took the stairs. Brooke went into a conference room and grabbed a briefcase. She thought she won but Stephanie McMahon walked in and told her that the real briefcase is on the roof. Carmella hit Brooke over the head with a poster. Evans knocked out Carmella with a punch. We see Paul Heyman in front of a ton of food with everyone passing him and he tries to calm down the situation. Evans knocked the food out of Heyman’s hand and onto Otis, who threw a serving plate into the face of Heyman. This led to a food fight breaking out and Baszler trying to choke out Rey. Jax sent Carmella through a table with a powerbomb. Jax and Otis had a staredown as Otis was eating a sandwich. They both walked away. Brooke slipped on a floor that was being cleaned. Jax and Asuka made it to the roof followed by Evans. Asuka joined them and they were all fighting for the ladder. Corbin tried to climb the ladder but Asuka kicked him off and grabbed the briefcase.

Winner: Asuka

NYK Daily Rating: 3.5/5. Asuka won. that’s amazing. I am happy for her. Hope she has a story ready for her from now on. Both the money in the bank matches were just very strange because it seemed like a movie shooting. Never the less, I got entertained and so, I am not cribbing about it.

Money in the Bank 2020 Review: 7.5/10

  1. I have always loved Money in the Bank PPV. I still want it to happen at wrestlemania but a PPV dedicated to this innovative concept is fine as well. That being said, we had two unusual money in the bank matches with Otis coming out victorious in the men’s match and Asuka prevailing again. Happy for both of them.
  2. Drew McIntyre Vs Seth Rollins was the Match of the PPV. It was nearly a 5 star match which was evenly paced and the right man won.
  3. Tag Team match was quick paced and it was the right start to the show.
  4. Tamina Vs Bayley didn’t live up to the hype. Tamina was too slow.
  5. Bobby Lashley needs a storyline.

Top 3 stars of the show

  1. Drew McIntyre
  2. Seth Rollins
  3. Otis/Asuka
