How to Prepare for the Digital Future of Education

The world is changing rapidly and after COVID-19 pandemic it is changing more rapidly than ever before. Work from home, online meeting, and social distancing are new norms of the working sector.

Digital technology is transforming our daily life and the education sector is one of the forefront of this league. It is not only influencing the way children learn but also changing the learning methodology.

Digital classroom, webinar software, writing assistant software, and plagiarism detector are very few among the heavily used technologies of the modern education world.

Below I am mentioning three important categories of software that you should learn to make yourself confident with the future of learning.

1. Webinar Software:

A webinar is a visual presentation, lecture, or seminar performed online.

Let’s have an example. Suppose you want to conduct a class among your students. However, instead of performing the class in your regular classroom, you are conducting them online via a video lecture at a specified time.  This web event will be called as a webinar.

The best part of a webinar is that you can conduct this event from any remote place and the number of participants can be as large as possible. So, you can easily scale your audience with minimum investment.

This is the reason that several businesses are moving towards webinars from the regular seminars.  And the education sector is quickly adopting the change.

There are several webinar software available in the market. Some of them are even free such as Google meet. However, the one that I like most is called GoToMeeting.

It is easy to set up and does not require any technical domain expertise to set up a webinar.

2. Writing Assistant Software:

Do you know that there are several writing assistant software and grammar checkers that can perform several advanced proofreading tasks.

If you are limited to MS Office then it is the right time to change your writing software.

Switch to Grammarly, or ProWritingAid which use advanced artificial intelligence-based technology to rectify difficult grammar mistakes and punctuation errors.

I am an academic blogger and I use ProWritingAid extensively for writing blogs. What I like most is its ability to suggest an appropriate writing style according to your needs.

There are several educational institutes who offer these softwares to their students for free of cost. Alternatively, students can get additional discounts for their personal use.

3. Plagiarism Detector:

Using someone’s creative work without proper attribution is known as plagiarism. Problem of plagiarism is one of the most difficult tasks to address. Technology is helping the academic society to detect and check this problem.

As a student you can also accidentally introduce plagiarism in your project or research paper. It is therefore always advisable to check your articles before final submission. I can help you from utter embarrassment that it may cause.

There are several plagiarism detecting software that are helping both students and teachers to curb this problem. However, the one which I prefer most is Copyscape.

It is one of the most extensive plagiarism detection software and costs a penny considering the service it offers.

Conclusion:

Education is one of the most dynamic sectors in the world. With the advent of technology, it is facing new kinds of problems every day and technology is also solving them. I have tried to mention three major issues that we are going to face in the near future and their possible solutions.
