Simple Recipe for the Perfect Banana Cake This Summer



  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 bananas mashed
  • 1/2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tbsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1/2 tbsp salt


  • Add the all purpose flour and sugar to a bowl.
  • Mash 3 bananas and put them in the bowl – mix well (preferably like kneading dough with the hands)
  • Add the baking powder, baking soda, butter (at room temperature), salt to the bowl
  • Now, to complete the batter, add 2 eggs to it
  • Whisk all ingredients well till it forms a thick batter
  • Be careful to not whisk the eggs too much, else the batter would become liquid-y and so would the cake.
  • Pre-heat the Oven to 180 degrees Celsius under Convection Bake mode for 10-15 minutes.
  • Now glaze the baking dish with oil/melted butter, using a baking brush and sprinkle some all purpose flour onto it.
  • Dust off the excess all purpose flour from the baking dish (the part that didnt stick to the butter)
  • Transfer the batter to this baking dish and keep in the oven
  • Bake at same temperature for 180 degrees Celsius for a minimum of 30 minutes
  • Keep checking how much of the batter has been baked using a toothpick – once you insert a toothpick, it needs to come out clean and dry or with tiny crumbles on it – this would mean the cake is baked and ready.
  • Serve hot or cold with a side of whipped cream and coffee/hot chocolate!
