The learning does not stop when initial training finishes. Fire fighters have to take part in ongoing training every week in order to make sure they maintain a high skill level. They can even be involved in education and learning programmes which teach people about fire safety and hazards.

Working as a fire fighter can be very rewarding because you get to help people and solve tricky situations. However, being a fire fighter requires a significant amount of courage, physical fitness and mental strength.

Bomb Disposal Engineer


The role of a bomb disposal engineer is to safely disarm and get rid of bombs and explosives. This job requires candidates to be able to establish the different types of bombs. Knowing exactly what type of device has been discovered is key to successfully disposing of dangerous devices.

You should only take on the job of a bomb disposal engineer if you can cope under very, very intense high pressure situations and understand the level of risk involved.

Stuntman


This is represented as a very cool and glamorous job to have. However, it is actually very hard to become a successful working stuntman and the work can be quite gruelling and stressful on the body.

Another misconception about this job is that it merely takes a slightly crazy individual who is willing to hurt themselves. The reality is that this job demands the individual to have a whole host of different skills. Many stuntmen or women have skills in a wide range of areas such as rock climbing, scuba diving, sky diving, skiing and the ability to drive various vehicles. This job is certainly not for the lazy or feint hearted!
