The importance of self-esteem cannot be overestimated in our daily lives; in fact, we do not put enough emphasis on the need for high self-esteem in our day. The human mind and body is a very complex system that is affected by a number of things. These factors are sometimes stimulated by emotions and the environment a person finds themselves; self-esteem is one of the most important emotions that affect how our mind and body works.
Self-esteem is a subjective opinion of a person that they have for themselves, which means that before you are judged by others, self-esteem is what you think of yourself. Self-esteem is what tells you how much worth you have; self-esteem is what tells you how much work you can do; self-esteem is what tells you that you are a winner.
Let’s compare the two ends of self-esteem and see how they affect one’s day; low self-esteem and high self-esteem.
A person with low self-esteem sees themselves as a passerby in the workings of life. They always seem themselves as being in the passenger seat, expected to be directed by others and often pushed over. A person with low self-esteem does not recognize the need for respect from others (colleagues, friends, acquaintances). A person with low self-esteem expects ridicule from others because they do not have a sense of self-worth. A person with low self-esteem looks at the work or challenge before them and gives up even before the going gets tough.
Simply put, a person with high self-esteem does the opposite.
Such a person sees themselves as being in the driver seat, in charge of their life and fate. They show respect to others and are accorded the same respect. They look at a job or challenge and recognize that solving it is the only way to achieve their goals.
