The PlayStation VR (officially abbreviated as PS VR), known by the codename Project Morpheus during development, is a virtual reality headset developed by Sony Computer Entertainment, which was released in October 2016.
A lot of people have enquired about the ways Playstation VR headset can be connected and so, we have covered it in our article below.
Connect The Hardware
Step 1: First ensure that your PS4™and TV are off.
Step 2: Unplug the HDMI cable from your PS4™ and plug it into the HDMI TVport on the back of the Processor Unit.
Step 3: Plug PlayStation®Camera into the AUX port. on your PS4™. For proper placement of your camera, see the PS Camera Placement section below.
Step 4: Using the PS VR HDMI cable, plug one end into the HDMI port on the PS4 and the other into the PS4 HDMI port on the Processor Unit. If you not using the one that came with the PS VR, make sure it is a HDMI 1.4 at minimum.
Step 5: Using the micro USB cable, plug one end into the back of the Processor Unit and into your PS4™.
Step 6: Connect AC power cord to the Processor Unit and plug it into the electrical outlet.
Step 7: Plug the PS VR Headset Connection Cable into the Processor Unit.
Step 8: Power on your TV and PS4™.
Step 9: Press the power button on the PS VR Headset unit (on the cable for model CUH-ZVR1, under the scope for model CUH-ZVR2).
PS Camera Configuration
Step 1: Place the PS Camera on a level surface about 4’7” (1.4m) high and about (6’) (2m) away from where you will be positioned.
Step 2: From the PS4 Home Screen, go to Settings > Devices > PlayStation VR > Adjust PlayStation Camera.
Step 3: Your TV will show an image of what the PS Camera can see. Angle it to make sure it’s focused where you will be positioned.
Step 4: Position yourself where you will be playing VR, in the center of the screen. This is important to make sure the PS Camera can place controllers in the right spot in the VR environment and track your PS VR Headset correctly.
Putting on and Fitting the PS VR Headset
Make sure that the PS VR Headset is as comfortable as possible.
If you are wearing glasses, the PS VR Headset will fit over your glasses. make sure to leave a little space so that they don’t touch the headset lenses or feel squashed against you. Having your glasses touch the lens could result in damage to your glasses, VR headset lens or both.
Model CUH-ZVR1
Step 1: Be sure to have your DUALSHOCK®4 controller close by so you can easily reach for it once you have put on the PS VR Headset.
Step 2: If you are using earbuds put them on. If you are using overhear headphones, leave them off for now and go to the next step.
Step 3: Pull out the scope by pressing and holding the scope adjust button found on the bottom right of the PS VR Headset.
Step 4: Press and hold the Headband release button and pull the headband out to extend it and then put it on.
Step 5: Adjust the scope position by holding the scope adjust button (underneath the PS VR Headset scope on the right) and push the scope in towards your face.
Step 6: Lower the headband to a comfortable position and gently adjust up and down so that the image is as clear as possible.
Step 7: Once you find the best fit, turn the headband adjustment dial on the rear and tighten the headband.
Step 8: If you are using over-ear headphones, put them on over the PS VR Headset and plug them into the in-line stereo headphone jack on the cable.
Step 9: Adjust the PS VR Headset by wiggling the scope up / down and left / right to make minor adjustments until things are in focus.
Step 10: To remove the headset, press the headband release button and re-extend the headband. Don’t pull off using the scope.

Model CUH-ZVR2
Step 1: Be sure to have your DUALSHOCK®4 controller close by so you can easily reach for it once you have put on the PS VR Headset.
Step 2: Plug the earbuds into the PS VR Headset.
Step 3: Pull out the scope by pressing and holding the scope adjust button found on the top of the scope.
Step 4: Press and hold the Headband release button and pull the headband out to extend it and then put it on.
Step 5: Adjust the scope position by holding the scope adjust button and push the scope in towards your face.
Step 6: Lower the headband to a comfortable position and gently adjust up and down so that the image is as clear as possible.
Step 7: Once you find the best fit, turn the headband adjustment dial on the rear and tighten the headband.
Step 8: If you are using over-ear headphones, put them on over the PS VR Headset and plug them into the in-line stereo headphone jack on the cable.
Step 9: Adjust the PS VR Headset by wiggling the scope up / down and left / right to make minor adjustments until things are in focus.
