A-list actor, Aaron Paul and star of Breaking Bad, known for his role as Jesse Pinkman celebrated his fortieth birthday in style. The occasion called for an action packed two-week excursion in the tropical Dominican Republic in the Carribean. Aaron and co-star, Bryan Cranston. were also celebrating their new artisanal Mezcal brand Dos Hombres.
Friends and family including wife of six years, Lauren, one-year-old daughter, Story-Annabelle along with ‘Path’ Costar, Michelle Monaghan joined in on the festivities.
In addition to costars and family, forty of Paul’s closest friends enjoyed the accommodations and beaches on the private five-star celebrity, Ani Private Resorts Dominican Republic Resorts. The two-week long party racked up an estimated nearly $300k tab on luxurious accommodations and activities.
Paul and Cranston partnered on Dos Hombres after longing to work together again after the end of the Breaking Bad series in 2013. They both discovered their common interest of rich & flavorful Mezcal during a conversation in 2016 while enjoying sushi in New York City. Cranston and costar, Paul sought out to find the best and most authentic and artisanal Mezcal in Mexico.
Dos Hombres launched this past July and was sure to-not-disappoint with its unique origin from Oaxaca, Mexico. Paul’s Instagram mentioned, “We searched high and low all over Oaxaca, met incredible people along the way and after a beautiful yet gruelling search throughout that majestic landscape we believed we may have found our place. Our mezcal. It was on a dirt-road, in a tiny village, hours away from the centre of town, we found it and it was perfect. Holy shit it was perfect.”

Dos Hombres is made with Espadin agave that is curated and hand-selected in the hills of the village of Oaxaca. According to the Dos Hombres website is is best to “appreciate the flavors” of Dos Hombres Mezcal by serving in an extended glass and allowing time for the Mezcal to become “awake.” People enjoying Mezcal must be encouraged to consume responsibly and over the age of twenty one.
Aaron and friends were seen playing games like cornhole and water activities like snorkeling and kayaking during the two-week excursion across the island all while enjoying custom mezcal cocktails by Dos Hombres.
Paul’s wife Lauren, commemorated her husband’s birthday with a thoughtful instagram post stating:
“This angels 40th birthday was a couple of days ago! We’ve been off the grid, phone-free celebrating with loved ones. I just came across this photo and it put the biggest smile on my face. You looking down at what would have been 4-month-old Story, the purest love and joy in your eyes. You are the most amazing father…. Happy birthday best friend, soul mate, lover. I feel so lucky to live life alongside each other, pinky finger holding.”forever.”
‘Path’ costar Michelle Monaghan, also did a celebratory post on Instagram: “This past week I had the privilege of celebrating one of my favorite humans on Earth, @aaronpaul, in one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been, @aniprivateresorts in the gorgeous Dominican Republic.”

On August 27, 2019, Paul’s actual birthday, guests were observed pairing Dos Hombres crafted-cocktails with celebrity chef, Chef Juan Vargas’ unique Dominican cuisine during a sunset yacht birthday soiree. Guests indulged in an elaborate farm-to-table feast of grilled fish in banana leaves, fresh tuna tatar and chicken takki.
The Ani Resort itself is known as an exclusive celebrity resort with villa suites costing nearly $25,000 night for its exclusive fourteen-room villa. The Ani in the Dominican Republic has also played a temporary home to Cardi B, Pitbull, Christina Augeilara, Vin Diesel, Shakira among other A-List celebrity guests. Going beyond the bar and Dos Hombres, Cranston and Paul are also currently working on the Breaking Bad movie, El Camino said to hit theatres in time for Halloween.
